i thought the movie was absolutely fantastic!! best movie this summer by far!! i like that the timeline is changed. its a new world of adventures. i am a huge star trek fan and i like that someone took it in a different direction. i think abrams was pretty clever in doin this. this there will be new star trek movies for our time with state of the art special effects that we didnt have when the series started. it puts a different light on the history of the characters. all you critics out there, if you think you could have done a better job at this movie, then maybe you should have wrote the script. i am so looking forward to the next movie in this new timeline. cant wait. fantastic job abrams!!

Ok first only thing I disliked was whoever bootlegged this movie had the zoom in a lil too close.
With that said I liked the movie unlike many other comments the Spock / Uhura relationship helped to emphasize spocks human side. I also liked the fact they stuck to what people know of Kirks academy in refrence to the kobiashi test. I would however liked to have seen a bit more space battle than all the running around but thats just cause to me thats what the whole Star Trek is is about.

the spock uhura relationship was in the original series but they had to take it out because of the race crap that was going on.

I went into this movie knowing it was bloody s**t. The only reason I went was for mothers day. Everything was just SOOOO predictable. I cant believe everyone was saying how good this movie was. I suggest that anyone who likes a movie just for its action should stay FAR away from this. The action was terrible, there was like...none of it. Maybe like 4 action scenes and stuff, thats it. And the others cant even be considered action. Well, whatever, make your own decision, but let me tell you that it SUCKED!

Not bad of a movie, only thing is that they kinda killed it with the Spock & Uhura thing they had going on. If they didn't put that in, then i'm sure it'd be a great movie. But other than that, i loved McCoy & Scotty. Made the movie good.

What a travesty for life long Trek Fans. JJ Abrams completely trashed and made irrelavent the entire Star Trek timeline and "Rebooted" it so he could make money off the franchise again. Pathetic. Alternate timeline my dying arse. The movie was well made, the plot was thin, a vaguely disguised reason to make more money but at least the acting was decent. I did not care for the Spock / Uhura relationship nor did I like the casting choice on Scotty but if you didnt know anything about STar Trek, this was a good movie. If you are a life long fan like I was, then you are sure to be disappointed by the obvious pillaging of a franchise to get richer and in the process disrespecting all the work that came before this movie.
